Party: Declan the human barbarian (6), Gileas the human bard (6), Ilidan Hunzrin the drow rogue (6), Rollan the human pallidan (4)
After inquiring at the Bard College about the mysterious Tome the found at the Gralhund Villa, Gileas was referred to Rishall at Book Wyrm’s Treasure in Troll Skull Alley. Rishall agreed to look into the book, but while the party waited in the store, they were accosted by a group of Bug Bears. The party made relatively quick work of the Bug Bears, and the handful of Kenku allies they brought for back up, and determined that they were likely sent by the Xanathar’s guild. After Declan killed the final Bug Bear with his magical hammer, a Babau Demon leapt forth from his the Bugbear’s broken skull and attacked the party. The group quickly defeated it. Eventually Rishall let the group know that the book contained names and deeds of cultists in Waterdeep and the group agreed to sell it to Rishall as an agent of the Watchful Order. Rishall offered to contract with the group to help round up cultists as needed.
Back at the Laughing Demon, Declan was approached by a northlander with a bag containing an Orc’s severed head. Declan paid the main but told him it wasn’t the Orc he was looking for. When pressed by the party, Declan explained that he was looking for an Orc and a friend that had been taken in Ten Towns. Frustrated by the lack of progress, Declan went off to the Dock Ward to drink. Rollan ultimately tracked him down and convinced him to come along as they went off to find the Gralhunds.
After JB Nevercott visited the Laughing Demon and offered to guide them to the Garlhund’s Windmill outside of Waterdeep, the party instead decided to use the portal that Grinda Garloth created. She ported them there and the party found themselves in the country with the Windmill visible in the distance. As they followed a river the were attacked by Spined Devils, Archers, and a Warlock. The party prevailed after a brutal engagement.
