Party: Belomash the half orc barbarian (level 3), Krumm Loadstone the dwarf cleric (level 3), Thom the halfling monk (level 3), Henrik the half elf ranger (level 3), Torrin Jrakkhos the dragonborn paladin (level 3)

Since they didn’t know the exact location of Cragmaw Castle Thom agreed to negotiate with a banshee in Conyberry for the priestess of the Shrine of Luck at Phandelver.  Sensing hostility towards undead from the group, he snuck out of camp to complete the task.  When the rest of the party caught up with him, they confronted and defeated the banshee.

Concerned with rumors of undead in the region, Torinn convened the party to investigate Old Owl Well, south of Conyberry.  They encountered a Red Wizen using zombies to excavate the site.  The wizard, Hamun Kost, offered to provide the location of Cragmaw Castle if they would eliminate a pack of orcs that had been interrupting his work.   The party agreed and took down the orcs at Wyven Tor.   After the wizard provided the information, they demanded he leave and then attacked him.   Kost was able to escape while the party was engaged with a group of zombies.

The information provided by Kost about the location of Cragmaw Castle was good at least.  The group scouted the castle and made their way in, encountering goblins and hobgoblins.
