Short Synopsis
Warlan enters the inner sanctum and retrieves the grimoire. He picks up a diamond (worth 3000 gp) and the grimoire. The gnome sees a drow woman in a magic circle. He opens up the circle to release her. The drow woman transforms into a hideous waxy like creature with one eye. Warlan makes a quick escape. The grimoire, written in Elvish, is called “The Book of Eight”. It contains information and spells on demon summoning and binding.
The party agrees to leave the trinket in Sorcere and to allow Baroj time to warn the drow houses of the upcoming demon summoning. Warlan slips away during the discussion and hides the trinket in the tower.
Meanwhile, the rest of the party is found by drow guards and escorted to the Matron of Baenre. Baroj. There they reveal Vizerin’s plan and the Matron is willing to proceed as long as the trinket is placed in a military compound. The party members are given day passes and find Warlan and place the trinket in the compound.
The adventurers make their way back to Vizerin. During this time, Warlan makes a quick copy of the book for informational purposes only. After giving the grimoire to Vizerin, the drow wizard gives them time to return to Menzoberranzan.
Seven demons are summoned to the drow city and they commence a battle of epic proportions.
Long Synopsis
Vizerin, a boxing promoter, has visions of setting a Match of the Millennium! The promoter sends the adventurers to setup the Tower of Sorcere as a boxing venue (and to frame his rival Gromph Baenre). Warlan makes his way into Gromph’s inner sanctum and picks up some materials to help promote the fight (a grimoire called the “The Book of Eight”).
Warlan also holds a trinket that will decide the venue of the fight. The party has an involved discussion about its placement, but finally agrees to place it in the Tower of Sorcere. During the discussions, impatient Warlan sneaks off and places the trinket in the tower.
Meanwhile, the rest of the party’s activities are discovered by the Menzoberranzan Boxing Commission. The adventurers are escorted to the Commission while Warlan stealthily trails them. Chair-Matron of the Commission (who is gorgeous enough to be a ring girl) is not pleased with the unauthorized venue. Nevertheless, she likes the idea of the “Fight” and requests that it take place at a military compound in Menzoberranzan. Warlan rejoins the others and the party makes sure to that the trinket is placed in the wall of the compound.
The party returns to Vizerin. While the promoter is not pleased about the change in venue, the fight must go on. He sends the party back to Menzoberranzan to cleanup after the fight. Before the fight, Kepesk treats the party to a “Heroes Feast” involving greasy buffalo chicken wings, pizza, beer and fries. Then the party settles down to watch the match.
In the far corner, with six horns and a six pack (of beer), is the Horny Beast King himself – Baphomet!
In the not so far corner, with two-heads and tentacles for hands, there is no stranger thing than the Demogorgon!
In the near corner, with wings and something up his sleeves, is the Lord of Illusions Fraz-Urb’luu!
Around the corner, filled with bile and anger, is the Oozing Hunger known as Jubilex!
On the far side of the street, sporting sharp teeth and flail, the Beast of Butchery Yeenoghu!
Standing at center stage, is the Demon Queen of Fun-Guys, the Lady of Rot and Decay, Zuggtmoy!
Squatting at the crosswalk, is the heavy of heavyweights, the Prince of Undeath, Orcus!
Although they come from different weight classes, the fighters converge on each other for a battle of epic proportions. Baphomet and Jubilex gang up against Orcus. Zuggtmoy and Yeenoghu make sure to get audience participation in the fight. Meanwhile, Demogorgon decides to throw a series of combinations at Fraz-Urb’luu.
