Short Synopsis
The adventurers investigate the next room next door. Within, a monstrous “Mother” demon is giving birth to demons by transforming derro supplicants. A fire giant and two demons flank the Mother and are corralling some humanoid prisoners.
Khazad charges into the room and a bloody battle ensues. Some of the prisoners break free, and one of them aids the party with healing spells. After a grueling melee, the adventurers defeat all of the demons in the room.
Long Synopsis
After defeating Grazz’t, the exhausted party hears guttural voices echoing from the next room…
“Ph’nglui mglw’nafh Cthulhu R’lyeh wgah’nagl fhtagn”
When they open the door, they find a vast chamber filled with swarthy derro kneeling in malevolent prayer. A crimson fire giant and two glabrezu demons are hunched over humanoid prisoners. All eyes gaze upon the gargantuan demoness squatting in the front of the room. Her rubbery skin is stretched over a massively swollen belly. From the distended, gelatinous flesh of her abdomen, the “Mother” demoness gives birth to mucus covered babau demons. The air is filled with putrid stench.
The adventurers charge into the chamber. Boarstack is so horrified by the sight of Mother that he stumbles backward. Khazad charges to attack the fire giant and demon guarding the prisoners. In the ferocity of his attack, he takes down a glabrezu demon by himself. Warlan raises his hand to sweep clear half a dozen derro with a cone of cold. Jax leaps into the room to attack one of the smaller demons. Baroj attacks from the shadows of the corridor.
With a glottal howl, Mother attacks Khazad. Her slimy tongue wraps around his body as she lashes slimy tentacles at him. The prisoners break free from their captors and attack the demons. A deep gnome summons a glimmering spiritual weapon to attack the demons. With deadly precision, Jax takes down the fire giant.
Desperately, Warlan casts *haste* upon himself. He uses spell and blade to attack Mother.
Baroj rushes to Boarstack’s side and the pair quickly become engulfed by a surging tide of babau demons. The slobbering demons climb over the bodies of the fallen to launch themselves at the pair of warriors.
Meanwhile, Khazad, Jax, Warlan and the deep gnome prisoner engage in a perilous battle with Mother. Khazad takes the brunt of Mother’s vicious attack as the others pound away at her. Jax manages to sneak behind and land a devastating blow. Howling in pain, Mother teleports away to escape the deluge. Warlan chases her down. He unleashes another cone of cold at Mother and a group of derro. With his dagger, Warlan finishes off Mother. Jax kills the other glabrezu demon.
Boarstack stands defiantly against the waves of babau demons as Baroj slips away to attack from a distance. When Boarstack falls to the ground, the deep gnome prisoner casts a spell to restore his health. Eventually, the other adventurers manage to come to their aid to slay the remaining babau demons.
Once the demons are defeated, the deep gnome ceremonially slits the throats of the remaining derro supplicants. Then, the prisoner identifies himself as Rasutar.
