The adventurers began this session already within the heart of the mausoleum, transported there by Zoltan’s magic. The group quickly oriented themselves to their surroundings and prepared to face the dangers that lay ahead.

Their exploration led them to eerie magical mouths carved into the walls, endlessly chanting an unsettling incantation. Torrin silenced one of the mouths with a dispel magic spell, but the others continued their haunting refrain. Undeterred, the adventurers pressed forward, uncovering a grand hall adorned with statues. Magnus’s enchanted sword whispered warnings of nearby dragons, sharpening the group’s vigilance.

Deeper into the mausoleum, they discovered a room with twenty alcoves, each holding a statue and a chanting magic mouth. Among the scattered bones in the room, they identified the remains of what appeared to be a black dragon. This revelation aligned with rumors the adventurers had heard previously, adding an eerie sense of validation to their journey. The group debated the value of the dragon bones and discussed the possibility of removing them from the mausoleum. Concerns about triggering traps or curses tempered their plans, and they ultimately decided to leave the bones undisturbed for the time being.

When Torrin fired an arrow at the dragon’s head, the pile began to stir. A ghostly dragon rose from the remains, its ethereal form resisting the adventurers’ attacks. Zoltan struck it with a firebolt, causing the apparition to vanish temporarily, but the encounter left the group on edge.

While exploring further, a mysterious figure approached Zoltan, inquiring about the chanting in the tombs. This interaction added to the group’s growing unease. In another crypt, they discovered a bag of valuables, which Belomash decided to return to its resting place out of respect for the dead. The adventurers knew the ghostly dragon could fully materialize at any moment, and they prepared for a potential confrontation.

Their search brought them face-to-face with an undead elf, who revealed that a priest of the dragon cult lingered near the dragon’s bones, preventing him from finding peace. The group resolved to deal with the cult’s remnants and continued their search for the elusive priest.

When the ghostly dragon reappeared, the adventurers quickly devised a strategy. Torrin declared a vow of enmity against the creature, while the others positioned themselves to avoid its breath attack. In the ensuing battle, Torrin’s radiant strike landed a significant blow, and Belomash charged forward with his axe, dealing heavy damage. Though the dragon’s ethereal nature made it difficult to harm, the adventurers’ magical attacks proved effective.

As they navigated the dungeon’s labyrinthine corridors, the group encountered more undead creatures and unearthed secret passages leading to hidden vaults. Their determination to uncover the priest’s whereabouts and stop the necromantic rituals driving the dragon’s haunting presence kept them moving forward.

The session concluded with the adventurers gathering their strength for the trials ahead. With some members set to be absent in the coming weeks, the group discussed their plans for continuing the exploration and confronting the dangers lurking within the sinking tower.
